Innovation and precision for the uncompromising conservation of Antonello da Messina's art.
The Safe Tech department designed and built a conservation display case for Antonello da Messina’s panel painting Ecce Homo during the renovation of the gallery rooms. The powder-coated metal structure consists of a container that houses the artwork, secured with anti-tip brackets, along with a passive climate control system and a datalogger to monitor microclimatic values. A laminated, anti-reflective, UV-protective glass serves as the front shield, while the use of neutral pH gaskets ensures minimal exchange with the external environment.
